If your laptop has something like a BIOS password and Full Disk Encryption, the lojack for laptops software will never execute once the laptop is stolen. LoJack for laptops does not protect your laptop against somebody pulling the drive and reading data off it. On a laptop, for them to connect to the WiFi, they will at least need to login to the Windows account to connect to WiFi. Computrace requires the OS to boot and go online. If you are relying on Computrace to recover your laptop, you are doing your computer security wrong.
